Allison/Joe
Allison awoke with a start, knocking the clock off the bedside table and bumping her head on the wall. Sitting up, she threw the covers to the floor and began to fan herself.
"Al?" Joe's sleepy voice questioned. "Are you all right?"
"Yes, I'm fine. Just had a dream."
Joe clicked on the lamp and looked at her. "Must have been a doozy to cause such a reaction. Another murder? Rape? Suicide?"
Allison looked away. "No. Nothing like that. It's o.k., Joe, really."
He put his arm around her, tipped her face toward his. "Want to talk about it?"
Allison blushed, and a smile played at the corners of her mouth. "Not this time, Joe."
